Deanna Steup Smith, 36, of Garfield, passed away on May 18, 2022. Born in Passaic, she lived in Clifton before moving to Garfield 2 years ago. Deanna was a teacher for the Clifton Board of Education at School #17 for the past 5 years. A very compassionate person, Deanna always had a smile, she loved cats, was an amazing baker, and loved to party.

Beloved wife of Scott Smith. Loving daughter of Doreen Steup of Clifton, and the late Eugene Steup. Dear sister of Stephanie Gavrieli and her husband Michael, and Ryan Steup and his wife Diana, all of Nutley. Dear niece of Jane Kooch of Clifton, and Kim Robbins of Pilesgrove, Cherished aunt of Chloe, Ava and Theo. Dear daughter in law of Scott Smith of Fair Haven. She will be sadly missed by her feline companions Luna and Brody.

Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. A prayer service will begin at 2 PM. Cremation will be private.
