Christopher J. "Chubby" Cordi, 82, of Newark passed away on July 24, 2014. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Christopher was a Service Manager for White Motor Company, Newark, for over 20 years. Beloved husband of Ida (Morelli). Devoted father of Luann Esposito, Lisa Mocera and her husband Dave, and Claire Canfora and her husband Jeff. Cherished "Poppy" of Christopher, Tommy, Jenna, Jeffrey, Alexa, Gianna, Anthony, Angelia, Kira and Dane. Adored great-grandfather of Alliana and Thomas. Dear brother of Dominick and James. He will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family, including his best friend Peter. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.JDRF.org, in Chubby's name would be greatly appreciated. Cremation was private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton.
