Christine Mcgovern's Obituary
Christine McGovern (Hoffmann), 83, of Clifton, passed away on August 25, 2017. Born in Czechoslovakia, she lived in Austria, France and Italy before moving to the US in 1957, settling in New York. Christine lived in St. Louis, Dallas, Cliffside Park, Hasbrouck Heights and Lodi and has been a resident of Clifton for the past 47 years. Christine was a self employed upholstery seamstress in Clifton for most of her life, retiring in 2007.
Beloved wife of the late Ernest who passed away in 1984. Dear companion of Jay Wooten who passed away in 2000. Devoted mother of Michael and his wife Florence of Dumont, Daniel of Rivervale, and Carol Santos and her husband Richard of Little Egg Harbor. Loving grandmother of Michael and Steven, cherished great grandmother of Tommy and Charlie. She will be sadly missed by her feline companion, "her boyfriend", Freddy.
Memorial Gathering Friday 4:30-6:30 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation was private.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Clifton Animal Shelter @ Friends of the Shelter, Inc., P.O. Box 4923, Clifton NJ 07015-4923, www.CliftonAnimalShelter.com, in memory of Christine, would be greatly appreciated.
