Chris Garofano, 91, of Passaic on November 23, 2009. Born in Kenvil, NJ, he went to Italy as an infant returning to the US at age 16 and lived in Paterson, and has been a resident of Passaic most of his life. A parishioner of St. Clare's RC Church, Clifton, Chris was a member of St. Clare's Holy Name Society, and the Kipp Senior Center in Rutherford. Chris and his wife were the owners of Chris' Meat Market at the corner of Oak St. and Myrtle Ave. in Passaic for 63 years, retiring in 1986. Beloved husband of the late Giovanna "Jenny" (Lipari). Devoted father of Mary Jane Ruhmschottel and her husband Henry of Wallington, Loving grandfather of Laura Viscovic and her husband John of Park Ridge. Cherished great grandfather of Nicholas and Gianna. Funeral Friday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Clare's RC Church.
