Chhotabhai Patel, age 101, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy shaped by resilience, gratitude, and unwavering optimism.

Born in British India, Chhotabhai witnessed history unfold before his eyes. As a young man, he experienced the profound era of India's independence movement and even had the opportunity to see Mahatma Gandhi speak, a memory that stayed with him throughout his life. Those early years shaped his deep appreciation for perseverance, simplicity, and community.

Later in life, he courageously began a new chapter by moving to the United States with his adult children. With the same determination that carried him through a century of change, he continued to work, build, and most importantly, enjoy life. America became home, but his roots and values remained ever strong.

Chhotabhai was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is lovingly survived by his six children, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and he found immense happiness in watching generations grow and thrive.

By all accounts, he lived a happy and healthy life. He built not only a family, but a legacy, one that will carry on for centuries to come through the values he instilled in those around him.

He lived by a simple yet powerful motto: "Chalse, Bhavse, Favse."

This philosophy defined him. It reflected his gratitude, adaptability, and calm spirit. He chose contentment over complaint, simplicity over stress. Those who knew him truly believe this mindset was the secret to his long life and the reason he was able to touch so many hearts.

Chhotabhai Patel's 101 years were filled with history, courage, family, and joy. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every life he helped shape.

His life was not just long, it was well lived.

તેઓનો જન્મ બ્રિટિશ શાસનકાળના ભારતમાં થયો હતો. યુવાનીમાં તેમણે ભારતના સ્વતંત્રતા આંદોલનનો ઐતિહાસિક સમય નજીકથી જોયો હતો અને Mahatma Gandhiનું ભાષણ સાંભળવાનો સન્માન પણ મેળવ્યો હતો, જે સ્મૃતિ તેઓએ જીવનભર સંભાળી રાખી. તેમના આ પ્રારંભિક અનુભવોને કારણે તેઓમાં સંઘર્ષશીલતા, સાદગી અને સમાજપ્રેમના મૂલ્યો વિકસ્યા.

છોટાભાઈ એક સ્નેહી પિતા, દાદા અને પરદાદા હતા. તેમના પાછળ છ સંતાનો, સત્તર પૌત્ર-પૌત્રીઓ અને પચ્ચીસ પ્રપૌત્ર-પ્રપૌત્રીઓ છે. પરિવાર તેમનો ગૌરવ અને આનંદ હતો, અને પેઢી દર પેઢી વિકસતા જોવાથી તેમને અપરંપાર ખુશી મળતી.

તેમણે સુખી અને તંદુરસ્ત જીવન જીવ્યું. તેમણે માત્ર પરિવાર જ નહીં, પણ એક એવો વારસો ઊભો કર્યો છે જે અનેક પેઢીઓ સુધી જીવંત રહેશે.
