Chester Jakubik, 96, of Osprey, FL, passed away on October 21 2015. Born in Poland on October 5, 1919, he came to the US in the 1950's and lived in New Jersey for many years before moving to Florida. Chester joined the Military Police School and later served in the Polish Army under British Command during WW II. A man of merit, Chester was a highly decorated veteran and earned many badges from the Polish President. Deeply involved in many Polish Organizations, Chester was a restaurant owner and successful businessman in New Jersey for many years. Beloved husband of Janina (Sznilik). Devoted father of Richard, Robert and his wife Maria, and stepson Robert. Loving grandfather of Tara. Also survived by other family members in Poland. Visiting Wednesday 4-6 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave. Clifton. Cremation will be private. Family and friends will gather on Saturday 9:45 AM at the funeral home to proceed to Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Dolyestown, PA., where burial of ashes and committal will take place at 12:30 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Epiphany Cathedral, Venice, FL, at a later date.
