Charles Edward Klopfer, 85, of Bridgewater passed away on February 13, 2025. Born in Carbondale, PA, he lived in Jermyn, PA, Newark, Union and Bedminster before settling in Bridgewater, NJ. A proud US Army Veteran, Charles served as the vice president for the Cemetery Board at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton and was the owner and operator of Union Electronics for 41 years, before retiring in 2010. Charles was an avid
golfer. He enjoyed boating and fishing and hosting family and friends at his Lake Hopatcong property. He loved collecting antique radios and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. His favorite role was that of a grandfather.
Beloved husband of the late Judith (Pugliese) Klopfer who passed away last September. Devoted father of Charles Klopfer, wife Angela, Cathleen Flaherty (nee Klopfer), husband Ed, and Brian Klopfer. Loving grandfather of Christopher Klopfer and wife Sarafina, Maggie Klopfer, James Flaherty and wife Danielle, Carolyn Flaherty and fiancé Eric Zickert and Erin Flaherty. Cherished great-grandfather of Felix Klopfer. Preceded in death by brothers Jack and Fred Klopfer and sisters Betty Torchia, Janet Kasen, and Carol O'Molesky.
Charles' memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those honored to have the privilege of knowing him.
Cremation was private under the direction of Shook Funeral Home in Clifton, NJ. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:00am - 11:30am in the chapel at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Avenue, Clifton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association .
