He was a
Retired Washington DC Police Officer
, Director for the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders, a Li
censed Detective and was the Owner of Delahanty Detective Agency, Clifton.
Charlie was the
1st Appointed Director for the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, appointed by Gov. Thomas Kean, was a
Councilman for the Council on Welfare Fraud with the Passaic County Board of Social Services, and served on the
Board of Managers, Preakness Hospital.
A US Army Veteran of Korea, serving 3 foreign tours, Charlie was a member of the Passaic County Historical Society, Masonic Lodge # 203, Clifton, and the Shriners.
He also served on the Board of Trustees for the Boys & Girls Club, Clifton, Passaic, Garfield. Charlie was a Life Member of
VFW Post 7165, Clifton, American Legion, Fraternal Order of Police, Clifton Elks Lodge and the Ortley Beach Moose Lodge, and the list goes on…..
Devoted husband of the late Corrine M. (Potlawski) who passed away in 2014. Beloved father of Charles, Jr. and his wife Debra of Hertford, NC, Cynthia Miller and her husband Jeff of Clifton, and Colleen of Clifton. Cherished grandfather of Charlie, Bryan, Casandra and Chelsea. Loving great-grandfather of Austin, Melissa and Philip. Dear brother of Robert of MD, Doris Fowler and her husband Lester of MD, William and his wife Andrea of FL, and the late Richard. Dear brother-in-law of Valerie of Garfield. Charles will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
