Catherine V. Pino, 37, of Clifton, passed away on February 9, 2013 after a courageous 8 year battle with Lupus. During her journey, Cathy's strength, perseverance and 'never give up' attitude was an inspiration to many including her family, friends and doctors. Born in Bronx, NY, she lived in Ecuador and Passaic before moving to Clifton. Cathy was a Human Resources Technician for Passaic County Community College in Paterson for the past 7 years. An incredible spirit, Cathy's contagious smile and personality touched the lives of all who came to know her. Beloved daughter of Ninfa (Alcivar) of Clifton, and the late Jorge Ernesto Pino. Devoted sister of Jackie Alcivar of FL, Jorge Pino, Rosemary Pino and Yesenia Jalil all of Clifton, Gigi Hernandez of Passaic Park, Ruben Jalil and Maria Jalil of Passaic, Gladys Pino, Walter Pino, Fernando Pino and Xavier Pino all of Ecuador, Bella Kramer of AZ, Sandra Askari of TX, Jeaneth Pino of NJ, Alexandra Pino, Brenda Mata-Pino, Tania Navarro-Pino and Soraya Gutierrez-Pino, all of NY, and the late Veronica Jalil who passed away in 1998. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. In Celebration of Cathy's Life, the family will be wearing white during the visiting on Wednesday and encourages everyone to do the same. Funeral Thursday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 6-10 PM at the funeral home.
