Carmen Rowena Sterling, 83, of Phillipsburg, passed away on April 4, 2026.

Born in Port Limon, Costa Rica, she came to the US in 1962 and lived in Brooklyn and Paterson before moving to Phillipsburg. Carmen loved spending time with her family, she enjoyed Gospel Music and was an avid fan of watching Steve Harvey.

Beloved mother of Ahrlene, Rona, Irsa, and Norberto. Loving grandmother of Starlena, Tashena, Antoine, Keena, Wayvell, Matteo, Slater, JayKel, Jerica, Jessica, Jerry, and 13 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Walter, Sumae, Glender, Marcelina and the late Winifred, Claire, Ursula, Rita, and Jose. Cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visiting Monday, April 13, 2026, 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Prayer service will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton
