Beverly A. Simko, 75, of Nutley, passed away on June 9, 2013 in Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, after a short illness. Born in Passaic, she lived in Clifton before moving to Nutley. Beverly received her BS from Douglas College and her MS and MA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. A Researcher for over 40 years, Beverly had a long and distinguished career with Hoffmann LaRoche and published many pharmacological papers within her field, retiring in 2011. An active community supporter, Beverly was a member of the Nutley Historical Society, the Van Riper Restoration Trust, Nutley, the Hackensack Riverkeeper, the Erie Place Historical District, and at one time was an avid sailor. Loving daughter of the late Stephen and Anne Simko. She is survived by many loving cousins, friends and colleagues. Memorial Gathering, Thursday 10 AM to 12 noon at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Beverly's favorite charities and associations.
