Barbara A. Smith (nee Ferraro) 84 of Clifton, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 16, 2022

Barbara, born 11/6/1938 in Passaic, lived a full life in various towns in northern NJ and Texas. She was a manager at a popular craft store in Houston TX, and was a nurse care coordinator in NJ and TX. Barbara's primary role in life was raising 8 children. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, game nights and loved to read her newspaper daily.

Barbara is survived by her 8 children; Bobbie (Roy) Cabibbo of Amissville Virginia; Laure (Fred) Barrett of Wayne NJ; Richard (Jacqueline) Gowe of Charleston SC ; Robert (Susan) Gowe of Byram NJ; Carolyn (Cosmo) Debellis of Arizona; Scott (Christina) Gowe of Pompton Plains NJ;
Gene (Carolyn) Gowe of Bealeton, VA; John (Julie) McGowen of Oshkosh WI; her sisters Mildred Madonia of Wayne NJ and JoAnn Luzzi of Manchester NJ; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents Mildred and John Ferraro; her husbands Borden Smith and Gene Gowe and, her brother John J. Ferraro.

Memorial Gathering Saturday, November 26, 2022, 12 Noon at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave. Clifton, with a Memorial Service beginning at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.StJude.org ,or to a charity of your choice.
