Antonis C. Antoniou, 73, of Wayne passed away on February 18, 2022. Born in Avgorou, Cyprus, he came to the US in 1966 and lived in Elmwood Park, NJ, Queens, NY, and Lincoln Park before moving to Wayne in 1995. Antonis worked as an Airplane Mechanic at John F. Kennedy and Newark airports for many years.  A big part of his life was the journey of building  and operating Pinebrook Grill Restaurant in Lincoln Park, which he ran successfully with his wife and three girls for 25 years.

Antonis was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Clifton.  After retiring from the restaurant, Antonis dedicated much of his time to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where he was a steward.  He loved his Church and up until the pandemic began, he especially enjoyed volunteering at the church to cook with other members in the kitchen and cooking for the annual Greek Festival; He was even recognized as "Grandfather of the Year" a few years ago by the Church for his dedication.  Antonis enjoyed the outdoors, fixing things, morning coffee with his wife,  but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.  He was an honest, good-hearted, and helpful man who was extremely close with his family, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Beloved husband for 46 years and best friend of Angeliki (Hatzinikolaou). He was always thankful to the Lord for all he was blessed with and would frequently tell Angeliki that his life was "too good to be true."  Devoted father of Cleopatra Yannitsadis and her husband Louie of Paramus, Sandy Prassakos and her husband Harry of Wayne and Christina Jelis and her husband Elias of Mt. Olive.  Antonis was very happy to be blessed with three wonderful son-in-laws.   Cherished grandfather of Evan and Angeliki Yannitsadis, George, Angela, Anthony, and Dean Prassakos, and Vaios and Antonis Jelis. Dear brother of Adam Antoniou, Maria Solomou, Andrew Antoniou and the late Peter Antoniou.

Visiting Tuesday 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.  Funeral Wednesday at 10AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
