Antoinette B. (Grocki) Chunka, 97, of Totowa, passed away on March 12, 2015. Born in Jersey City, she lived there and in Spotswood for over 30 years, before moving to Totowa in 2007. Antoinette worked for Halston and L'Oreal in Monroe for many years, retiring in 1983. A former parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Spotswood, Antoinette was a member of the Rosary & Altar Society, Head of Hospitality, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a CCD Teacher for the Communion Classes. Antoinette was a member of Pro-Life, she was a Charismatic Prayer Leader, a Lay Associate of the Felician Sisters, Lodi, and was active with the Spotswood Senior Center. When she lived in Jersey City, Antoinette had been a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church and was a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader for many years. Beloved wife for 60 years of the late Peter who passed away in 1998. Devoted mother of Sister Mary Antonelle, C.S.F.F., Lodi, Peter and his wife Laurette of Sebastian, FL, Cecilia Kaczala and her husband Ronald of Wantage, Frances Ann Vianali of Africa, and Diane Cistaro and her husband Frank of Bayville. Loving grandmother of Peter, Steven, Justin, Rachel, Chelsea, Travis, Alan and Kamill. Cherished great grandmother of Tobias. Dear sister of the late Anthony, her twin, and Loretta. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10:30 AM at the Chapel of St. Jeanne Jugan at Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, Totowa. Interment, George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Monday 3-7 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton., and Tuesday 8:30-10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, Totowa.
