Anthony A. Paone, 91, of Clifton passed away on January 23, 2014. Born in Archbald, PA, he lived in Los Angeles, CA, before moving to Clifton in 1966. An Army Veteran of WW II, Anthony was a Sergeant with the 243rd Engineer Combat Battalion serving in Central Europe, Ardennes and Rhineland. He received a Good Conduct Medal, a WW II Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and was a member of the VFW Post # 711, Bloomfield. A parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Anthony was a Stone Mason for over 40 years, retiring in 1992. Beloved husband for 63 years of Dolores (Jose). Devoted father of Richard Paone and his wife Gail of Wayne, and JoAnne Jahnke and her husband Matt of Las Vegas. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey Paone and his wife Erin. Dear brother of the late Rose Picciolo, Kay Farina, Philip, Joseph and James Paone. Memorial Gathering Monday 7-9 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. A prayer service will be held at 8:30 PM, followed by the Presentation of Military Honors.
