Anne Sygiel's Obituary
Anne Sygiel, 97, of Pompton Plains, formerly of Clifton, passed away on May 11, 2023. Born in Passaic, she lived in Clifton for over 50 years before moving to Pompton Plains. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Anne was very active with their Loaves and Fishes group making pierogi, which she truly enjoyed. Anne had also belonged to the St. Philip Prime Timers and Rosol-Dul American Legion Post #359 Ladies Auxiliary.
Beloved wife of the late Benjamin who passed away in 2009. Devoted mother of Ellen Capko and her husband George of Waretown, Jane Mongelli and her husband Leonard of West Milford, and Robert Sygiel and his wife Carole of Pleasanton, CA. Loving grandmother of Daniel Mongelli, Alyssa and her husband Nick Bellafonte, Brittany Houser and her husband Chad, Christopher Capko and his wife Lisa, Gerald Capko and his wife Jamie, Lauren Sygiel and Colin Sygiel. Cherished great grandmother of Liv, Mya and Kai, Katelyn, Matthew, Brady, Julianne and Alaina. Dear sister of the late Emily Komeshok, Joseph, John, Walter, Edward and Frank Rzepecki.
Visiting Thursday 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Friday 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
