Anna M. (Wegryniak) Maize, 84, of Ormond Beach, FL, and Mahwah, NJ, went home to be with her Lord on May 30, 2011, Memorial Day. Anna was born in Passaic, NJ, and lived most of her life in Mahwah, tending to the apple orchard and her beloved family. After 29 years at Bergen Pines County Hospital, she retired from her position as senior admitting clerk, and eventually moved to Ormond Beach in 1999. Anna enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, and connecting and conversing with people, and loved the beach. She was a kind and generous woman, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and supporting many charitable causes, including Multiple Sclerosis, Easter Seals, Special Olympics, and her favorite, Disabled American Veterans, as her husband was a DAV. Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Catherine Wegryniak, as well as her loving husband of 54 years, Matthew J. Maize. Survivors include two sons, John M. Maize and Thomas A. Maize (wife, Lynn), a beautiful granddaughter, Kristen L. Maize, and goddaughter, Alicia Tucholski . Anna was a dedicated member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., with a gathering afterward. There will be a brief memorial service and interment of ashes at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook, NJ, on June 24, at 11:30 a.m., with a gathering beforehand.
