Anna (Soltys) Krzysik, 85, of Clifton, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lapsze Wyzne, Poland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dominik and Helena Hornik Soltys. Anna immigrated to the United States in 1967, making her home in Clifton, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and community.
Anna was a devoted wife to her late husband, Dominik, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Together, they created a strong foundation for their family, emphasizing love, hard work, and faith. She was preceded in death by her siblings:
Michal, Jan, and Dominik Soltys, and her sisters: Teresa Soltys, Elzbieta Pawlica, Helena Kuruc, Maria Jadamiec, and Cecylia Kalata.
Anna's faith was a foundation of her life. She was a dedicated and active parishioner of St. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Clifton, where she was a proud member of the Slovak Rosary Society and the Slovak Catholic Sokol. Her unwavering faith and involvement in the church community were an inspiration to all who knew her.
For 25 years, Anna worked at Marcal Paper Mill, where her dedication and work ethic were admired. Beyond her professional life, she was the heart of her family, living a life of selflessness, generosity, and unconditional love. She took immense pride in being the cornerstone of her family, always striving to provide her children with a better life in the U.S..
Anna is survived by her five devoted children: Frank (Anna), Anna (Ron), Joseph (Nives), Maria (Michael), and John (Lucia). She was the cherished grandmother of Peter, Nikki (John), Jennifer, Brittany (Patrick), Joseph Jr. (Michele), Ryan (Makenzie), Jonathan (Hiba), and Adam, and the treasured great-grandmother of James, Logan, Jordan, Olivia, Luca, and Eliza. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Poland, particularly to Jan Soltys and his family.
Anna's legacy is one of faith, strength, and an enduring commitment to her family and community. She will be remembered as an extraordinary mother, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. Her warmth and steadfast support will forever be missed.
Her life was a testament to the values she held dear: faith, family, and perseverance. In her presence, there was always love, laughter, and a sense of belonging. She was the light and strength of her family, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anna's life at the viewing on December 4 th from 1–3 p.m. and 5–8 p.m. at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Avenue in Clifton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 5 th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cyril and Methodius Church in
Clifton, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
