Anna Marie Grenda's Obituary
Anna Marie Grenda, 95, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2016. Miss Grenda was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Jajkiewicz). Devoted sister of the late Andrew Grenda and his wife Nancy, Charles Grenda and his wife Edelmira, Julia Ann Beckman and her husband Hans, Mary Ann Mathias and her husband Joseph Anthony Mathias, Sr..
Anna Marie's first job was with the Gaybrand Hand Bag Co., Passaic, manufacturing ladies hand bags, where she worked for 2 years. She applied for a job at Manhattan Rubber Co., Passaic, where her father and sister Mary Ann were employed. She was hired in June of 1940 and started in Department 38. After 1 year, Anna Marie was transferred to work in the Laboratory and worked there for 10 years where she enjoyed the work and her co-workers.
In March of 1951, Anna Marie was hired by the Assistant Inspector of Naval Material, Passaic, a Department of the Navy.
In 1965, Defense Contract Administration Services District was established, which included Departments of the Army, Navy and Air Force. She retired in December of 1980 having spent 29 years and 10 months of loyal service as an employee of the Federal Government Defense Logistics Agency. Anna Marie was honored and enjoyed a Retirement Luncheon at the Ramada Inn, Clifton, with co-workers, family and friends.
Anna Marie was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish, Clifton, since 1954. She was a member of the NARFE, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees since 1980.

Funeral Wednesday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, Visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
