We regretfully announce the passing of Anasuya (Anu) Rao of Clifton, NJ on March 2, 2023.  Anu was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully. She overcame one cancer diagnosis and sadly was diagnosed with a completely different cancer within 10 months. She fought esophageal melanoma like a champion- a rare and aggressive cancer with treatment that many would not even consider going through.

Our mother/Aji, was one of the strongest, most courageous, bravest, and kindest persons to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Anu was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and honesty. Anu was a true role model who we will always look up to.

Funeral Services Sunday 8 AM - 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Ave., Clifton.
