Alfred A. Kowal, 86, of Clifton passed away on October 5, 2013. Born in Passaic, Alfred lived in Wallington before moving to Clifton 44 years ago. A Navy veteran of WWII, Alfred was the Owner & Operator of Kowal's Gulf Service Station, Wallington, for over 50 years before retiring several years ago. Beloved husband of Mary (Firkowski). Devoted father of Cindy Kowal, Wanda Stumper, Gaby Firkowski and the late Deborah Kesser. Cherished grandfather of Shannon Stumper, Kim Stumper and Ricky Bedal. Funeral Friday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Paul RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Funeral Home.
