Alfred J. Belfondo, 96, of Clifton passed away on June 1, 2018. Born and raised in Garfield, Alfred has lived in Clifton for over 50 years.

A parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Alfred was a Shipping Clerk for Passaic Rubber Company for 40 years, retiring many years ago. Alfred was a US Army Veteran of WWII where he served as an Engineer Gunner of the Tornado squadron of the Earthquakes, completing 61 missions on a B-25 aircraft over Italy, Germany, China, India and Burma. He received an Air Medal for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial operations.

Beloved husband for 61 years of the late Florence (Popek) who passed away in 2010. Devoted father of the late James who passed away in 1999. Loving father-in-law of Patricia (LePore) of Clifton. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas.

Services are private under the direction of Shook Funeral Home, Clifton.
