Alexandros Peppes, 77, of Clifton, on September 4, 2009. Born in Greece, he came to the US in 1960 and settled in Pennsylvania and Passaic before moving to Clifton 41 years ago. A parishioner of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, Clifton, Alexandros was the owner of Alex's Luncheonette on Lexington Ave. in Clifton for 40 years, retiring in 2000. Beloved husband for 46 years of Dionysia (Sougelas). Devoted father of John and his wife Katherine of Wyckoff, Nicholas and his wife Susann of West Caldwell, and Theodosios of Clifton. Dear brother of Stamatis Peppes and Despina Katselis, both in Greece. Loving grandfather of Alexander. Funeral Tuesday 9:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 11 AM at St. George's GO Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
