Adele (Checinski) Mettee, 93, of Clifton passed away on October 27, 2023. She was born in Clifton and lived there all of her life. Adele was the daughter of Stanley and Domenica (Skrocznski) Checinski and was a telephone operator for NJ Bell in Rutherford, NJ. She was a girls' softball coach and kitchen coordinator for the Clifton Little League, Central Division. Adele also loved gardening and spending her time with family.

Beloved wife of the late Charles L. Mettee who passed away in 1996. Devoted mother to her 5 daughters, Charlene Mettee, Andrea Lipari and her husband Joe, Barbara Musella and her husband Nick, Joyce Mettee and her husband Lee Burtts, and Gayle Hutchison. Adele also leaves behind her 11 grandchildren, Aimie Simpson, Jason Simpson and his wife Shanion, Robert Cason and his wife Keela, Joseph Lipari, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Michael Lipari and his wife Taryn, Kristy Lipari and her husband Dave Ficacci, Dylan Musella, Melissa Burtts, Jennifer Burtts, Gerard Hutchison, Jr., and Kaylee Hutchison. Adele also was a cherished great-grandmother to Devon, Brennen, Penelope, Vivienne, Lynnley, Lyla, Leo, Berkeley, Luca, and Harper.

Funeral services were private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton.
